Sean Negus is a transdisciplinary artist, educator, translator, editor, researcher, and clinical hypnotherapist based in Oakland, California. His work investigates how language and consciousness shape creativity and transformation across artistic, educational, and therapeutic contexts.

His artistic practice spans multiple disciplines. Alongside this work, he teaches writing, literature, and critical studies in higher education, translates contemporary Brazilian and Portuguese literature, and develops editorial projects that foster dialogue across languages, disciplines, and cultures. His current research explores the intersections of poetics and therapeutic practice, examining how language and imagination transform human experience.

Sean holds two graduate degrees and has taught at colleges and universities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. His work has been supported by artist residencies, exhibitions, publications, and interdisciplinary collaborations in the United States and internationally.
